I am also to observe that the amount of the balance of account in favour of the War Department stated in para.ll of the letter of H.E. the Governor dated 7th March, 1905, appears to require modification to the following extent, viz:- first, by the addition of the sum of $2,000, being the amount of the error above alluded to; and, secondly, by the deduction of the sum of $8,000, the total of the items of $3,000 and $5,000
